Allen Meadows - Score: 91-93 (2021 January)

A much more deeply pitched nose offers up notes of plum, black currant, newly turned earth and a whiff of oak. The succulent and opulently rich large-scaled flavors possess imposing power along with plenty of muscle on the balanced and wonderfully persistent finale. This is excellent and very Murgers in character; in fact the word textbook comes to mind.
